Nature Environment Wildlife Society (NEWS) is a non-profit organization registered under Societies Act. It is Headquartered in Kolkata and there are station offices in Sundarbans.

Applications are invited from the bonafide candidates for the INTERNSHIP Programme in a project “Rehabilitation of Jackals present in the Operational Area of NSCBI Airport, Kolkata” run by NEWS in Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata. The details are given here under:

Educational Qualification: Graduate or Masters in Zoology, Ecology or Life science with a keen interest and knowledge about wildlife conservation and rehabilitation.

- Home nearby NSCBI Airport and current passport holder (Issuing date is under 5 years) will be preferred.
- Candidates are expected to undertake extensive field surveys in NSCBI Airport, Kolkata and therefore, required to be physically fit to undertake research in terrain and hostile conditions.

|Scope of Work||Basic knowledge on physiography of Sundarban.
Able to conduct extensive fieldwork in the terrain of Sundarban.
Able to handle different small instrument like GPS, Slide calipers etc.
Able to work in community science research interface,
Able to conduct floral and faunal surveys, set up monitoring mechanism, community awareness programme, questionnaire survey, multi-stakeholder dialogue including Government Agencies, Institutes, Panchayats, JFMC’s, local partners, School programme etc.
Writing reports, Generating Monitoring information system, Expertise in computer skills like Microsoft office packages and statistical software like SPSS, origin etc.
Knowledge of Arc GIS, and other relevant software.
