Combatting Wildlife Trafficking: A Genetic Method to Help Law Enforcement

 

 

 

On June 18, 2019 the Lincoln Room at the American Centre, Kolkata, hosted an interactive event on Combating Wildlife Trafficking by Dr, Samuel Wasser, Professor – Department of Biology, University of Washington, Seattle, U.S.A. The event was facilitated by the U.S. Consulate, Kolkata. Participants from prestigious institutions like Zoological Survey of India, Jadavpur University, Calcutta University and NEWS, were privileged to be part of the event where they got first-hand information on methods to measure abundance, distribution and physiological condition of wildlife from the man himself, Dr. Samuel Wasser, who is also a U.N. Wildlife Conservation Expert.
