Plantation Drive at Sahibabad
‘Tree plantation drive’, a CSR initiative of Sanofi Pharmaceuticals was held at Sahibadad, Dhapa, on June 21, 2019, organized by NEWS. The event was graced by Shri Swapan Samaddar MMIC, Environment, KMC and Councillor of Sahibabad, during which he delivered a motivating and informative speech and distributed saplings to the locals including students. About 80 saplings were planted as well during the event.
1. To increase and protect mangrove cover in 10 ha. at identified sites of Karaikal by 2025 with community participation, who are engaged in valorising mangrove value chain through income generation activities. 2. 14 Stewards from local community and 50 volunteers from local School & colleges engage in protection of Olive Ridley and Green turtle by 2025
