Objectives: Improvement of conservation status of Fishing Cat and associated wetland biodiversity in Kolkata through evidence-based habitat management and community-led stewardship. The project will pursue the following objectives:
To assess the encounter rates and habitat preferences of the Fishing Cat using non-invasivemethods.
To aware local communities to take ownership of conservation efforts through environmental stewardship, ensuring the long-term sustainability of conservation initiatives and providing simultaneous benefits to local communities.
