Fish Feed Distribution among the Water Users Association under WBADMIP, South 24 Parganas

Fish feed (Indian Major Carp, Scampi, Pabda) was distributed in the presence of District Project Management Unit Officials at Uttarabad, Patharpratima Block, and Ramdhari, Canning-1 Block. Water Users Association from Purba Surendranagar WUA, Srinarayanpur WUA came to Uttarabad, whereas Kumirmari WUA, Amtali Uttar WUA, and Birinchibari WUA collected the feed from Ramdhari despite the huge distance they had to travel to reach Uttarabad and Ramdhari. The WUA Government Body members collected the fish feed from the District Project Management Unit (DPMU) Officials, stocked it at a place, and later handed it over to the Farmers’ Interest Groups (FIGs) members. The quality of the feed is not that great at their place and the price is comparatively higher. The WUA understands the importance of the West Bengal Accelerated Development of Minor Irrigation Project (WBADMIP) at the community level very well. The cost of travel was borne by the community.
