The International Day for Biodiversity, on the 22nd of May, was commemorated by the Eco-clubs of Hingalganj, Sagar Island and Kumirmari through a survey of the biodiversity that can be found near their villages. This was followed by an activity where the children mapped the food web and food chain based on their observations. Eco club members were introduced to eco mantras which promote environment-friendly habits. They pledged to adopt one habit in their daily life and spread the message to generate awareness in their local community and protect local biodiversity.
