“Inheritance” – a photography exhibition on Nature and Wildlife, organized by Nature Environment & Wildlife Society, taking place at Central Gallery of the #academyoffineartskolkata, was grandly inaugurated on the 4th of April 2024 at 05.00 pm. The inauguration was graced by the presence of distinguished guests. Dr. Dhriti Banerjee, Director of the #zoologicalsurveyofindia, adorned the event as the chief guest.
The exhibition was also honoured by the presence of several dignitaries like Mr. Samuel Bouchard, from the French Consulate, Kolkata; Mr. Nilanjan Mallick, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Govt. of West Bengal and Director of the Sundarban Biosphere Reserve; Mr. Ujjwal Ghosh, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Wildlife HQ,, Govt, of West Bengal; Mr. Subhankar Sengupta, Chief Conservator of Forest, Govt. of West Bengal and Director of #zoologicalgardenalipore; Dr. Pradip Vyas, Chief Vigilance Officer, Government of West Bengal, and Ex-Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief Wildlife Warden and Mr. Jones Justin, Deputy Field Director of #sundarbantigerreserve from the Department of Forests, Government of West Bengal and other passionate advocates for the environment.
Dr. JRB Alfred, President, NEWS and Former Director, Zoological Survey of India and Mr. Biswajit Roy Chowdhury, Secretary, NEWS provided invaluable support throughout the planning and execution of the exhibition. The ongoing exhibition is being further enriched by the gracious presence of contributors, whose captivating photographs serve as windows into the enchanting world of nature and wildlife.
Throughout the event, the visitors were treated to a unique and enriching experience, as they had the opportunity to interact with the talented contributors of the exhibition. This interaction allowed them to delve deeper into the captivating narratives behind each photograph, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of the mesmerizing natural wonders showcased. The closing day of the exhibition was particularly special, as it was honoured by the attendance of Mr. Didier Talpain, the Consul General of France in Kolkata.
