Increase Mangrove cover in Karaikal district, Puducherry to build coastal resilience & protect Olive Ridley and Green turtle through strengthening of community participation

Project Duration: July 2022 – June 2025

Project Objective-

1. To increase and protect mangrove cover in 10 ha. at identified sites of Karaikal by 2025
   with community participation, who are engaged in valorizing the mangrove value chain
   through income generation activities.
2. 14 Stewards from the local community and 50 volunteers from local Schools & colleges
   will engage in the protection of Olive Ridley and Green turtles by 2025
