On 7th May 2023, under the umbrella of Susthayi Krishi Paribar-Labonbhumi (Sustainable Agri Family-Coastal and saline soil) and in collaboration with Badabon Harvest (FPC), NEWS organized a stakeholder meeting at Jaynagar Town Hall on the opportunity and challenges of production, processing and marketing in coastal and saline regions of West Bengal with the theme of ‘No to inorganic agriculture (NIA)’. Around 140 persons participated with 27 organizations working in different parts of Sundarban, along with farmers, and agri-scientists. They shared their experiences on natural farming, success stories and also the challenges faced. Former state Agriculture Minister, Shri Purnendu Bose suggested actions for nature-based agriculture for a healthy life that will bring economic, social and ecological benefits for the society.
