As an organisation working by involving communities as co-actors to protect, conserve, and restore nature
As an organisation working by involving communities as co-actors to protect, conserve, and restore nature, showcasing passionate involvement and the wonderful accomplishments made through the course of our journey, is a privilege. To ensure we do justice to these stories and enhance our skills, a capacity-building workshop on Storytelling, Photography and Videography was organized under the “Multi-stakeholder partnership (MSP) to strengthen transformative processes in shrimp trade as a basis for the protection of mangrove ecosystems in South Asia” Project from the 21st to the 23rd of June, 2023, in Kolkata and Lakhsmipur, Sundarban. Mr Vinod Sreedhar, Founder of “ Journeys with Meaning ”, and Mr Anshul Uniyal , independent cinematographer, imparted the training to 27 participants on devising narratives in an innovative way to impact audiences.
Over the course of these three days, the participants were taught how to frame a story and were shown the different approaches to presenting a message along with the technicalities of photography and videography. On the last day, the entire team visited Lakshmipur for a practice session in the field, where groups were formed on a certain topic that had to be showcased through a short video and/or photographs.
