In continuation of the Nature club named “PRAKRITI” at M.P. Birla Foundation Higher Secondary School, Behala on 22.Oct.2016 and 5.Nov.2016 another separate session on Biodiversity of Sundarbans had been conducted with both junior and senior students by Nature Environment Wildlife Society (NEWS). We discussed about mangrove forest, role of mangroves forest, biodiversity, and different species found in Sundarbans, plants and roots differentiation, history of Sundarbans, extinct species of Sundarbans, Mammals, Birds, Herpeto-fauna etc. found in Sundarbans.
NEWS had distributed nearly 80 photographs of different animals and plants with the students so that they should learn about different species.
We shared two documentaries i.e. Sundarbans life line (by NEWS) and Ganga River of Life (by animal planet) on 5.Nov.2016. Students of senior section had worked with in groups they had prepared and shared different charts about biodiversity of Sundarbans.
