NEWS organized a bird-event on the ‘Birds of Eco Park’

“Earth Hour Day” on 25th March is a day when people from all over the world come together in support of people and our planet. In celebration of this day, NEWS organized a bird-event on the ‘Birds of Eco Park’. The event was held in the Newtown Business Club at 10.30 am with a total of 75 people attending different sessions. Distinguished guests such as Shri Suman Neogi, Chief engineer of HIDCO; Shri Kalyan Roy Chowdhury, Chief engineer of NKDA and Col. Indrajit Roy, General Manager of NTBC, attended this event.

Mr. Kallol Mukherjee, a wildlife photographer and Nikon India Official brand influencer, was invited as the guest speaker. He presented a photo story on the many birds he has been able to capture with his camera. NEWS presented their short documentary on the Birds of Eco Park. Many eminent senior birdwatchers in and around Kolkata participated sharing their birding experiences at Newtown and Eco-Park Bird walk.

In the second half, a Photo story on the birds of Eco Park was presented by Pradyut Choudhury and Sumit Moulik, reputed Bird watchers. Students from Derozio Memorial College (WBSU) , Ballygunge Science College campus (CU) and APJ Abdul Kalam Govt. College (WBSU) participated in a quiz competition on Birds held by NEWS.
