On the occasion of World Water Day, under the project “Reduction of forest dependence of tribal youths in Paschim Dwarikapur village of Patharpratima Block”, implemented by Nature Environment & Wildlife Society (NEWS) in collaboration with the State Bank of India General Insurance Company Limited, the infrastructures developed during the project period were officially handed over to the respective authorities. The event was organized at the Paschim Dwarikapur Adibashi Primary School. Sri Sk. Abdul Razzaq Molla, Sabhapati; Shri Sanjay Nayek, Pradhan; Sri Rajbahadur Singh, Karmadakshya-Siksha of Patharpratima Panchayat Samiti alongwith Dr. Debashis De, Principal Scientist, ICAR-CIBA and Sri Suvadip Pan, sub-inspector of Patharpratima Block members were the distinguished guests in the event. School toilets, a water reservoir plant, solar panel at the school hostel were officially handed over to the representative of the Education Department whereas the drinking water treatment plant was formally handed over to the Adibashi community of Paschim Dwarikapur. After the formal inauguration and handing over, a cultural event was also organized by the Adibashi school students. It was followed by mangrove plantation at the mudflats of Paschim Dwarikapur.
