The farmers of the IMA sites in our SAIME Project sold their chemical-free harvest to the BFPCL instead of local market. Last time, they sold a total quantity of 54.1 kgs whereas on now, the farmers’ group sold a total quantity of 136.4 kgs.   As an initial step of developing a structured community-based value chain by directly involving the fish farmers from the #Sundarban, the Farmers’ groups of IMA have been linked with a farmers producer company formed by the Sundarban farmers (BFPCL) under the patronization of Nature Environment & Wildlife Society (NEWS).   This is a step ahead for integrating IMA, a conservation-linked livelihood practice, with a community governed value chain where the farmers realized a profit of 10% due to reduction of the number of middlemen along the value chain.   Read more about our SAIME project:  https://www.globalnature.org/en/shrimps-mangroves  Nature Environment & Wildlife Society (NEWS) Naturland Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ) (BMZ) Daimler Truck AG  #GNF #SAIME #multitalent #climateprotection #natureconservation #environmentalprotection #sustainability #india #Bangladesh #Sundarbans #mangroves #mangroveforest #shrimps #aquaculture #DoGoodAndTalkAboutIt #worldsavers #wecandoit #alltogether
