Quality Improvement Training program on large cardamom

A one-Day Quality Improvement Training program on large cardamom was organised by NEWS Kurseong on the 27th of February. The training was imparted by Mr. Jugal Das, Assistant Director, and Tarachand Basor, Executive Development Officer from the Spices Board divisional office, Kalimpong. 72 participants from 3 WUAs, Ekta MM, Laliguras LM & Toryok Agro WUA, attended the program which was conducted by Yabesh Bhitrikoty from NEWS. Mr Das taught the gathering of the practices for large cardamom, crop calendar, and field management. He further spoke on the latest disease and pest attacks which are common in the hills. Mr Basor educated the participants on the various subsidy schemes provided by the Spices Board. He also clarified any doubts, queries and misunderstandings the participants may have had about availing of these schemes and the best way to do so. The program benefitted the participants having provided valuable knowledge.
