SaciWATERs held EIMACC’s Second Online Meeting.

On the 12^th of April, SaciWATERs held EIMACC’s Second Online Meeting. Ms. Ajanta Dey and Dr. Chandrima Sinha from NEWS participated in the event.

Ms. Dey presented on the emerging carbon market, how it can be a very important tool for large-scale restoration if used wisely and how Civil Society Organizations play a critical role but should be careful not to be involved in the green-washing which is conducted in this sector.

Dr. Sinha spoke on the MISHTI scheme and the need for CSO integration to secure the long-term sustenance of plantations and transform it into restorations programmes.
