A training on ‘Breeding and Seed Production of Nona Tengra (Mystus gulio) in captivity’ was organized today at the Kakdwip Research Centre by the Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture (ICAR-CIBA) in collaboration with Nature Environment & Wildlife Society (NEWS). The Nona Tengra, is a suitable species for aquaculture diversification and can bring a good price to the small-scale farmers as the species is highly consumer-preferred, hence, commanding a high market price. The setting of this seed production unit has been funded by Dr. Parimal Pal Choudhury, ex-professor of IIT Kharagpur. The training component is supported under the Sustainable Aquaculture in Mangrove Ecosystem (SAIME) project. #BrackishwaterAquaculture #Sundarban #ICAR-CIBA #KakdwipResearchCentre #Mystusgulio #SustainableAquaculture #SAIME #GlobalNatureFund #Naturland #BangladeshEnvironmentandDevelopmentSociety(BEDS)
