A Burmese python was spotted by the farmers while ploughing their sugar cane field at Laxmipur village. They shared the information with NEWS (HEC Project team). The project manager, Abhishek arrived at the site and rescued the python, and released it in S74 beat which is near the elephant rescue centre of Valmiki Tiger Reserve. Similar incidents took place at Ramaniya Tola, Jamuniya where an 11 ft Burmese python was rescued. Another rescue operation was carried out at Genhariya village, where a Cobra and a Rat snake were rescued and released. These initiatives are taken to minimize the negative interactions between humans and animals to avoid casualties and damage.
