Position Overview
Nature Environment & Wildlife Society (NEWS) invites applications from dynamic, self-motivated and committed professionals to join the IKI – Living Lakes Biodiversity Conservation Programme as Manager – Climate, Environment & Youth Citizenship.
The manager will provide technical leadership in climate change adaptation, wetland and biodiversity conservation, environmental governance, community engagement, youth citizen science, stakeholder coordination, research, documentation, and project implementation, while supporting long-term conservation and sustainable development of the Deepor Beel landscape.
A major responsibility of this position will be to design, coordinate and strengthen Youth Citizen science initiatives, promoting environmental leadership among young people and enhancing community participation in conservation.
Project
IKI – Living Lakes Biodiversity Conservation Programme (IKI-LLBCP)
A flagship Indo-German initiative for biodiversity conservation and climate resilience, implemented in collaboration with national and international partners for the conservation and sustainable management of Deepor Beel Ramsar Site, Assam. The position builds upon the existing Environment & Climate Change role while strengthening youth engagement and environmental leadership.

Essential Qualifications and Experience
Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Climate Science, Ecology, Biodiversity Conservation, Forestry, Natural Resource Management, Sustainable Development, Rural Development, Social Work, or any related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in one or more of the following:
➢ Climate Change
➢ Environmental Management
➢ Biodiversity Conservation
➢ Wetland Management
➢Youth Development & Citizen Science
➢ Community-based Natural Resource Management
➢ ProgrammeManagement
Experience in donor-funded projects, particularly involving wetlands, biodiversity conservation, or climate resilience, will be preferred.
Required Skills
Personal Attributes
Salary: ₹50,000 – ₹55,000 per month (Gross)

Position: Conference Operations & Stakeholder Coordinator
Project: 17th International Living Lakes Conference 2026
Jointly Organised by: Nature Environment and Wildlife Society (NEWS) & Global Nature FUND, Germany
Duration: 10 Months
1. Purpose of Engagement: To lead and coordinate logistics, stakeholder engagement, programme support, and operational execution of the 17th International Living Lakes Conference 2026 in collaboration with GNF, external consultants, partners, and local authorities.

Compensation:
The consolidated professional fee for this assignment shall be in the range of INR 55,000 – 60,000 (Rupees One Lakh to One Lakh Fifty Thousand only) per month for a period of 9 months, based on essental qualification and relevant experience.
Applicable taxes shall be deducted or paid as per prevailing statutory norms.
Travel expenses for stakeholder coordination and official conference-related engagements will be reimbursed as per organisational policy, subject to prior approval.

The consolidated professional fee for this position will be INR 35,000 – 40,000 per month, depending on qualifications and relevant experience.
Applicable statutory deductions will be made as per organisational norms.
Travel expenses for official conference-related work will be reimbursed as per organisational policy, subject to prior approval.
