For the children at Kumirmari village in Sundarban, ‘Random killing of birds ‘ has been a game , a cruel practice that they carried on mindlessly. On 3rd January, 2020 NEWS organized an Awareness Programme on the Importance of Birds and its conservation in Sundarbans at South Kumirmari Free Primary School. The programme was a huge success as the interest and participation of the students in the interactive sessionshad been noteworthy.The young minds were excited about Nature and its rich bio resources and they vowed to protect the special mangrove ecosystem of the region and contribute to the cause of ecology and the environment.
