Position: Project Manager (One Post)
Project Location: Mayiladuthurai Coastal District, Tamil Nadu

Qualifications:

Graduation in Zoology/Botany/Environmental Science or allied subjects (Postgraduate preferred).
Proficiency in English and Tamil – reading, writing, and speaking.
Minimum 4–5 years of experience in mangrove conservation projects, coastal flora, climate change, wetland management, wildlife conservation, or community livelihoods.
Proven experience in project management and achieving defined outcomes.
Demonstrated ability in stakeholder collaboration, especially with Government departments.
Passion for working at the interface of community and science.
Capacity to organize and mobilize communities.

Scope of Work:

Understanding community resilience and its connection to biodiversity conservation in the project area.
Identifying habitats and endangered species relevant to the project area.
Facilitating livelihood activities and monitoring Self–Help Groups (SHGs).
Monitoring project cycle parameters with a Results–Based Approach.
Implementing project activities to achieve defined outcomes.
Leading and supervising fieldwork, including administrative, technical, operational, and financial components of the project.
Designing and conducting surveys (biodiversity, livelihoods, socioeconomics, etc.) and preparing analytical reports for advocacy and planning.
Building and maintaining strong collaborations with Government departments and other stakeholders.
Preparing detailed reports (annual, half–yearly, completion) and content for publications such as pamphlets, brochures, and policy documents.
Facilitating training sessions at the community level.

Integrated Farming Systems (IFS):
1. Promote Integrated Farming Systems tailored to the Sundarban, combining aquaculture,
agriculture, apiculture, and backyard poultry farming (BYPF) for sustainable

2. Provide technical support and training to farmers.
Homestay Tourism:
1. Develop and support community–based homestay tourism initiatives to create alternative

Project Location: Hooghly, North 24 Parganas, Nadia & Purba Bardhaman districts of West Bengal.

Qualifications:

Bachelor/Master degree in Fishery Science or Equivalent.
4 years experiences of working in aquaculture at community level including FIG formation, etc.
Capable to contribute in building capacities of the farmers/fishermen in good aquaculture practices mode and introduce climate –biodiversity friendly aqua–designs from production to post–harvest mechanisms.
Able to analyse the problems faced by farmers and augment their livelihood by working closely with them in a multi–stakeholder milieu.
Professional aptitude in English and proficiency in Bengali languages is mandatory.
Computer knowledge regarding MS–office and other data analysis packages.

Scope of Work:

Responsible for the overall planning, coordination, management & implementation of the aquaculture based integrated farming system (IFS) models under the project
Ensure aquaculture activities are implemented according to the annual work plan, and also flexible
to shift priorities as per needs.
Design and develop aquaculture models as per feasibility, demonstrate in field and analyse the data to produce result–based reports
Estimate input costs for aquaculture activities and procurement.
Establish the fish cultivation as an important livelihood sector among small & marginal farmers, bring innovation & new ideas to create replicable model.
Develop and strengthen Community based Cooperative/Society/Farmers Producer Company to take up the livelihood activities integrating with conservation and protection of the wetland as a sustainable practice.
Develop capacity building plan, module and mechanism for delivery
Organize and facilitate trainings of farmers in climate friendly sustainable aquaculture practices.
Capacity building of the farmers /Self–Help groups on various income generation activities.
Organize special hand–holding training on feed preparation, disease management and marketing, etc.
Develop group dynamics of the SHGs and farmers groups and their empowerment.
Monitor and supervise the aquaculture and allied activities in the field. Provide handholding support to farmers.
Collect basic & final DATA, before and after implementation of Fisheries and allied work. Document key lessons and best practices, Case studies/Success stories and prepare social media and website contents and ensure sharing with key stakeholders
To develop Package of Practice of Fish cultivation (area specific culture method, Production cycle, Risk
management, etc.) in English and regional language
To explore and create market potential, identifying value chain and facilitate to develop market linkages of the farmers groups and Self–Help groups with markets and as well as Govt. Agencies. Facilitate to develop their linkages with the banks
Facilitate PRAs and FGDs, and develop survey questionnaire, lead the surveys activity and analyze the data to produce result–based reports
Monitor and supervise the Community Workers and their capacity building.
Prepare reports of workshops/trainings etc.
Assist the Project Manager in preparing progress reports and other reporting requirements.
Coordinate with DPMU/funder and other Expert for smooth execution and proper planning of the fisheries and allied work
Support the project team to organize various events like workshops/seminars etc.
Perform any other duties assigned by the project manager and the Organization as per need.

2-3 years of post-qualification experience in implementing Mangrove-based projects and community-focused initiatives.
Experience conducting Community Resilience Assessments in relation to environmental factors and biodiversity conservation.

Scope of Work:

Work closely with the mangrove conservation project, ensuring livelihood activities are aligned with environmental sustainability.
Coordinate with local communities, especially farmers and fishers, to implement livelihood strategies that support the restoration and protection of mangrove ecosystems.
Design and implement capacity-building programs related to sustainable livelihoods, natural resource management, and biodiversity conservation, with a focus on mangroves.
Collaborate with community workers, project managers, and local stakeholders to integrate sustainable practices in mangrove-dependent livelihoods.
Assist in forming and strengthening community institutions such as Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) involved in the mangrove project.
