Celebration of World Environment Day 2022:

Nature Environment & Wildlife Society (NEWS) celebrated World Environment Day, 2022 with the local communities of Sundarban as well as Kurseong. Following the global mission to revive and restore the degraded ecosystems, from forests to farmlands, from the mountains to the coastal areas, the communities associated with NEWS came forward and participated in the various plantation programs. Initiatives were taken for plantation activities in the catchment areas of the jhoras (mountain springs) at Kurseong to sensitize the communities on the importance of this day and the various actions that are needed to be taken up.  It is the call of the hour to safeguard the health, the richness, and diversity of life on Earth, its ecosystems, and its finite resources this World Environment Day. There may be a million planets out there in the galaxy…..but there is ONLY ONE EARTH! Start today to save tomorrow.
